WHISPERS OF GOLD

The story of the Waiuta Mine and town on the West Coast.

This DVD has been donated to the Archive by Mara Burich of Greymouth. It was filmed in 2020 and contains interviews with people who lived in Waiuta township or worked at the mine.

Some of them were Dalmatians e.g. the Begovich family, Frank Srhoj, Joe Baran.

Some of you may have had grandparents who began their immigrant lives down on the West Coast of New Zealand, either Coal Mining or Gold Mining.
